Development of Novel Inorganic Materials for Environmental Protection and Efficient Utilization of Resources

The ability of catalysts to increase the reaction rate, by providing an alternative route of reaction
with lower activation energy, is one of the essential principles utilized by the petrochemical, chemical, and pharmaceutical industry. Currently, environmental catalysis is widely used in many commercial sectors for the protection of environment and for the improvement of the quality of our life. Nowadays,
it is well recognized that catalyst materials, especially heterogeneous catalysts, are one of the key materials to support the current society. Our laboratory is specialized in the study of heterogeneous catalysis, more specifically in the preparation and characterization of complex oxide catalysts and in
the control of the properties of solid materials. Our goal is to discover and develop novel functional materials by means of innovative solid state chemistry methods.

Our recent research projects are as follows:

Preparation of inorganic materials via solvothermal method

Preparation of visible-light responsive photocatalytic materials

NOx emission control using solid catalysts

Fabrication of electrode materials for dye-sensitized solar cells

Surface modification of nano-sized metal oxides

Synthesis of zeolite-like microporous crystals with organic species in the framework

Synthesis of functional inorganic materials form low-value substances
